Normans has been moving goods around New Zealand for more than 50 years- although business looks a little different today than it did when Charlie and Marie Norman first got started.

Beginning in livestock transport in 1970 and officially registered in 1988, Normans has grown into a trusted transport, warehousing and distribution business, with a strong focus on food-grade storage for both local and international markets.

Through all that growth, one thing hasn’t changed: Normans is still a family-owned and operated business. Our head office and original depot are based in Morrinsville, with Charlie and Marie’s son Adam Norman now leading the team.

Our Morrinsville site has grown alongside the business. After relocating from our original smaller depot, we built our first dedicated food-grade store and office in 1999. Over the years, we’ve continued to expand the site with additional storage, an onsite workshop, covered loading areas and, most recently, a fifth store completed in 2018.

In 2014, we expanded into Hamilton with the opening of our purpose-built Te Rapa storage facility. Designed specifically for modern warehousing and distribution, the facility includes two separate stores and an enclosed canopy that allows our team to unload containers and handle freight efficiently and undercover.

Today, Normans combines decades of hands-on industry experience with modern food-grade warehousing, transport and distribution facilities. We’re proud of how much the business has grown, but we’ve never wanted to lose the personal, practical approach that got us here in the first place.

While a lot has changed over the years, our promise to our customers hasn’t — practical, reliable service from a local team that genuinely cares about getting the job done right.
